Moving to Costa Rica

Planning a big move or retiring and want a change of pace? Costa Rica has many communities of expats from countries like, Canada, France, the United States, Germany and many others. People choose to move here for the culture, the weather and many other reasons. The cost of living can be lower than in some countries and the people are welcoming and friendly.

It is a good idea to rent a house or apartment in an area before jumping into purchasing a home. In fact, living in several areas before settling into one is a good idea. You may decide the climate is too hot near the beach and you’d rather live in the Central Valley. Or, you may find that mountainous areas, like Monteverde,  are beautiful, but to damp for your liking.

Rentals can be found throughout the country and the further you are from a tourist destination, the better the price.

There are some spectacular homes, with beautiful views, just a 30-40 minute drive from the beach.
